Halo lit letters or also known as reverse channel lit letters consist of aluminum faces and sides (returns) mounted onto standoffs away from the wall which project either LED’s or neon Illumination to the wall surface giving the sign a halo effect. If the letters are partial return illuminated, they can be flush mounted to the wall as well. This technique is often considered to give the customer a special reflective effect.

This letter combines the standard front lit letter along with the reverse/halo lit letter. The sides of the letter are aluminum or stainless steel, the faces are made of polycarbonate or acrylic and the back of the sign is open to reflect the LED or neon illumination off of the wall.
Backlighting requirements
Backlighting is a great way to help your sign stand out from the wall, especially in poorly lit areas, only certain signs with large enough letters or bold font may apply for illumination. Illuminated letters or symbols must allow enough space on the back to hide 1/2” wide LED strips without running into difficulty.
